House Connection, Episode 41 mixes Tropical, World, and Spoken Word inspired House Music
/Episode 41 of House Connection on KTUH 90.1 FM Honolulu fuses dance music with sounds from India, Syria, Japan, Spain, Greece, Nigeria, and more in an exploration of Tropical, World, and Spoken Word samples in house music. Fela Kuti (Nigeria), Sergio Mendes (Brazil), Hraach (Armenia), Malcom X, Charlie Chaplin, and many more are sampled and discussed with minimal interruptions as DJ Mike Curtis throws down a classic grab bag set culminating with 10 tracks that were sampled in the dance music tracks for the set. DJ Mike Curtis even drops in a signature remix at about the 1:55:00 mark with IndySoul - Heaven Can Wait (DJ Mike Curtis We Are Not Enemies Remix).
